Just when you think New York is doing something good for New Yorkers, they fuck us over in the end. As always Cuomo and his crew of ass eaters cater to big business because lets be real, that’s his main priority. He cares about donors, NOT people.
Spectrum was set to be kicked out of New York for lying about their internet speeds. They also promised to expand to rural areas that do not have internet currently. This was apart of the agreement New York and Charter (Spectrum’s owner) made when we allowed Charter to buy Time Warner Cable. Their internet speeds were almost 80% slower than advertised. Aka dial- up life. How greedy can they be. People are paying over $100 a month to take an hour to download a nude. THAT IS NOT OKAY. This is america damn it.
If this was apart of their agreement and they did NOT honor it, then their asses should be kicked out. I’m sure another company would gladly come to New York, build out our rural internet services and NOT lie about it. Why lie? Do they think we are too dumb to check our internet speeds? Y’all are really dumb FOR REAL.
But not as dumb as New York. They had an opportunity to actually make a company do what they promise. But instead they caved and agreed to a $174.2 million dollar settlement. What New York will do with that money is besides me. Knowing Cuomo he will spend it on buying Amazon a “please come back” gift.
If you are wondering, well what about the customers. Fear not! Over 700,000 of them will get a credit between $75 and $150 dollars and 6 months of Showtime and HBO free! Wow talk about a blessing. Oh wait wasn’t the problem shitty internet speeds. So how they hell are they going to be able to use Showtime Anytime or HBO Go. In order to get the credits you must call and request it. Wow talk about bullshit. How many people do you think will forget to call? Spectrum did they on purpose.
Legit no one watches Cable, its all about streaming. So if you have shitty internet you will live a shitty life. So this deal with Spectrum is trash. They should be forced to upgrade their cables in rural areas! Also, the fact that there is only two internet providers is the definition of fucked.
Talk about a monopoly! There should be at least 3 everywhere. Its like you either get shit service or pay a boatload for horrible service. Personally I think internet access is a human right and the government should be subsiding it. If these companies aren’t going to do their jobs then we need to fire their asses and start our own company. Because if I try to watch my Real Housewives and its buffering, I will cut a bitch.
